| Established in 1951 and with the early purpose
of providing foreign readers with books on Chinese history and culture,
New World Press (NWP) has published more than 5000 kinds of books, many
of them having been favorably commented by foreign readers and spread to
many countries and regions through copyright licensing. To better adapt itself to the rapid development of world publication, NWP carried out a reshuffle in 2001, changing its scope of publication business to a great degree. The newly reshuffled NWP is trying to develop a wide scope of titles while laying emphasis on social sciences, education, finance and investment, language learning and reference books. NWP is also working hard to build up business with foreign publishing companies and literary agencies in copyright trading and publishing cooperation. Now it has established relationships with scores of publishing companies and literary agencies in many countries and regions. In doing business with its foreign counterparts, NWP promises that it will abide by China's relevant laws and regulations and international copyright conventions to which China has acceded as well as its agreements it has signed with its clients. Bo doing so, NWP hopes to create famous brands of its own in the near future as well as establish and maintain lasting cooperation with more foreign publishing and literary firms on the basis of equality and mutual interest, thus making great contributions to the development of world publication industry. |
